At Midhurst Dental, we value every tooth and it is only the most extreme and necessary cases, such as when roots are damaged beyond repair, that we may extract a tooth. This may be followed by a restorative procedure, such as an implant.
At Midhurst Dental, we offer tooth extraction services to remove teeth only when required. We offer sedation options to help ease the anxiety that might come with this procedure. We do both general teeth extractions, as well as wisdom teeth extractions.
What are wisdom teeth?
Usually appearing around the age of 20, Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to emerge in the mouth. They appear at the back-most part of your mouth and can sometimes cause discomfort.
Why might I need wisdom teeth extractions?
- Crowding: If the wisdom tooth is growing in and crowding the other teeth, we usually recommend tooth extraction.
- Partially erupted: If the wisdom tooth has not fully grown in, it I might need to be extracted.
- Health Concerns: We may recommend removing a wisdom tooth if it has caused gum infection, is subject to a cavity or tooth decay, or if there is cyst formation.
